Create a Club
Use our Club Creation Checklist to create a drone club quickly and easily!
What does a drone club look like?
Think of working with your closest friends on your passion for drones, tinkering away on perfecting your latest drone design - that’s what a drone club supported by Asteria looks like. It offers you access to our network of other drone clubs, lets you into our regional competitions and gives you lower rates on our modular drone kits as well!
Club Creation Checklist
Build an officer team
❏ Recruit 3-5 people interested in drones and engineering to help get your club up and running
These people will be your officer team
❏ Send out this list as a guideline for setting up your club
Teacher Advisor
❏ Identify a teacher to ask to be your advisor.
Your ideal teacher will likely be your engineering teacher (if applicable)
If your school doesn’t have an engineering teacher, find another teacher you are familiar with
❏ Ask them if they would be willing to support you and your club
Get approval from your school
❏ Learn about the requirements your school has for clubs
Some of these requirements often include having an officer team, a teacher advisor and/or filling out forms that your student council has created for a club
❏ Prepare a presentation explaining the benefits of having a Drone Club at your school and complete the approval process at your school
Register with Asteria Drones
❏ Register your club with Asteria at the Asteria Club Registration form
❏ Schedule a meeting with an Asteria team member to go over the basics of building a club now that you’ve been approved by your school
❏ Explore the resources Asteria offers
Recruit club members
❏ Send out announcements in school email groups, Facebook groups and other social channels to let other people know about your club
❏ Create incentives for people to join your club by explaining the benefits of drone education
❏ If your school has a day dedicated to learning about clubs on campus, make sure to participate in that
Hold your first club meeting
❏ From the known members you have, hold your first meeting to introduce the club and do the following:
❏ Talk about the logistical aspect of the club
